SPS Employee Training Programs

SPS employees are carefully selected for their skills, attitudes and abilities. Our full-time employees have a vested interest in producing only top-quality craftsmanship.

Our mandatory Employee Training Program assures that each employee, from 20-year veterans to first-year apprentices, receives extensive classroom and field instruction. Areas of study include client service, advances in building materials and maintenance systems, quality assurance, and safety.

Annual Full-Day Training Workshop

Topics include quality control, client service standards, and SPS’s strict drug-free workplace policies.

Safety Training

SPS’s extensive safety training includes:

• An introductory one-on-one session with SPS’s
  Safety Manager
• 4 hours of classroom work each year
• 8 hours of safety training for each foreman
  and manager
• Regular insurance inspections
• Voluntary OSHA jobsite inspections
• Surprise jobsite safety inspections by SPS’s
  Safety Committee
• SPS field employees also complete OSHA’s 10-Hour Construction Safety Training

Field Instruction

SPS field instruction includes:

• Daily on-the-job training
• Monthly meetings with managers and foremen
  to review SPS quality and client service standards

EPA Lead-Safe Training

Schernecker Property Services is an EPA Lead-Safe Certified contractor. More than 20 SPS supervisors are trained as Certified Lead-Safe Renovators.
